Handle them carefully

Store your maps safely

Ensure your antique restored maps aren't stored in a space where there are extreme changes in temperature. Each of these can have a damaging effect on the paper. Ideally, your storage space should have a sustained humidity of 35-55 percent, with a temperature of at least 60-75 degrees.

Do not use chemical cleaning products

If simple dusting does not feel enough, there are many other ways in which you can clean your map. However, avoid using household cleaners and chemicals as they will cause extensive damage to the any art piece. For best results, take the map to a professional art cleaner.
